One print, one country, every dish worth arguing about. The Maison Maps poster archive is a world atlas drawn entirely in food.
A photograph of a bowl of noodles is decoration. A poster that names forty dishes, draws them accurately and lays them out like a museum plate is a conversation. Every Maison Maps food poster is researched dish by dish, illustrated by hand and typeset in a restrained editorial style, so it works in a modern kitchen and still makes someone from that country point at the corner and say — they got it right.
Most countries are drawn in two versions. The white edition is quieter and suits bright kitchens, Scandinavian interiors and gallery walls with other light prints. The black edition is dramatic and works beautifully in dining rooms, hallways and rooms with deep cabinetry. Both are designed to be framed simply — thin oak, black metal or a plain white frame — with a generous mount if you have the wall for it.
Above a dining table, hang the centre of the print roughly 145–150 cm from the floor and choose a print at least two-thirds the width of the table. In a kitchen, place prints away from the immediate splash zone of the hob and sink. Gallery walls work best with a repeated frame and 5–7 cm of breathing space between prints; a set of three countries — heritage, home and a place you travelled — is the arrangement people stop to read.
They are specific without being risky. You are not guessing someone's taste in art; you are naming their culture, their favourite cuisine, or the country of a trip they still talk about. That is why food prints sit at the centre of so many housewarming, wedding, Mother's Day and Christmas lists.
