Our online store runs on the Shopify commerce platform, which processes personal information on our behalf in order to operate the shop and checkout.

We share personal information only where it is reasonably necessary to fulfil your order, deliver it, meet a legal obligation or pursue another legitimate and lawful purpose. These recipients act as our service providers or, where required, as independent controllers for their own legal obligations:

Your email address may be supplied to a shipping carrier or a customs and delivery partner where this is necessary to complete delivery or customs clearance. For example, an international carrier or local delivery partner may use your email address to send information about customs clearance or the payment of import charges. This is an operational necessity of international delivery.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell your email address to shipping providers or anyone else.

Payments are processed securely by the relevant payment provider and/or by the Shopify commerce platform. Maison Maps does not store complete credit card details. We may receive limited payment-related information such as the payment method used, the result of the transaction and a partial card reference for reconciliation and fraud prevention.

Because our production and fulfilment partners operate in different countries, personal information may be transferred outside the European Economic Area — for example to the United Kingdom or the United States — where this is necessary to produce and deliver your order. Where such a transfer takes place, it is based on an adequacy decision, on Standard Contractual Clauses, or on another lawful transfer mechanism together with appropriate safeguards.

We keep order and transaction information for as long as required to fulfil the order, handle returns and warranty questions, and satisfy statutory retention obligations (including Dutch tax retention requirements). Customer service correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the matter and any follow-up. Information kept on the basis of consent is deleted when consent is withdrawn, unless another legal basis applies.

The website is served over HTTPS, and checkout and payment processing take place in the secure environment of our commerce and payment providers. We apply appropriate organisational and technical measures, limit access to personal information to what is necessary, and require our service providers to maintain appropriate safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
